Description

FertiQUICK is a home-based rapid test that detects the concentration of gametes in sperm with 97.01% accuracy.

A rapid test will show whether the sperm count is within normal limits (at least 15 million cells/ml). No other fertility factors are detected by the test. The result of the test can be read by the appearance of the line in the test box. The package contains all the necessary items for the test: a test cassette in a sealed bag, a solution bottle, a sperm transfer syringe, a sperm collection cup, a detailed instruction leaflet.

Background:
“Infertility is not just a problem for women. In about 40 percent of infertile couples, the sole cause or contributing cause of infertility is a problem with the man. In about a quarter of infertile couples, more than one cause or factor is associated with inability to conceive. In 10 to 15 percent of couples, the cause of their infertility cannot be determined after medical examination” (Men´s Health, University Health Care).

DESCRIPTION:

The FertiQUICK is a rapid home fertility test to detect the concentration of semen in the semen. Self-testing can be used to detect whether the sperm count is within normal limits. The test is not suitable for detecting other fertility factors.
The FertiQUICK Immunochromatography Rapid Test detects ACRV1, an element of the head fragment of the sperm cell, which is then bound by gold colloid-labelled antibodies. This complex binds to the test strip (T) to form a clearly visible red stripe.

EVALUATION OF THE TEST RESULTS

To read the test result, just determine if an indicator strip is visible in the control (C) position. The strength or faintness of the control stripe (C) is not diagnostic.

POSITIVE TEST RESULT
If the indicator strip appears in the control (C) and test (T) positions, the test result is positive, regardless of the strength of the indicator strip. The strength or faintness of the test strip (T) is not diagnostic. A positive result means that the sperm count reaches 15 million sperm per millilitre and the sperm count is considered normal for childbearing. However, a positive test result alone does not prove fertility. It is important to understand that many factors other than sperm count can affect fertility. So, if you and your partner have been trying to conceive for several months without success, it’s a good idea for both of you to see a doctor and have a full infertility check-up.

NEGATIVE TEST RESULT
If only the control strip (C) is visible but NO test strip (T), the test result is negative. The sperm count is less than 15 million/ml. However, a negative test result alone does not prove infertility. Some men have sperm counts below this range, yet are able to conceive naturally. It should also be understood that sperm count can vary from day to day. So you may find that if you wait a while and test again, you will get a positive result. Nevertheless, we recommend that you discuss the test result with your doctor and have a full semen analysis. It is particularly important to see a doctor if you and your partner have been trying to conceive for months or longer without success.

INVALID TEST RESULT
If the control strip (C) does not appear in the test forms or only the test strip (T) is visible, it means that the test was not performed correctly and the result is invalid.
It is important that you follow the instructions for testing exactly. Re-run the test with a new sample and a new test. To retest, wait at least 48 hours but no more than 7 days after your last ejaculation.
