Information from

The normal vaginal clock provides natural protection against infections. Several varieties of the genus Lactobacillus support the vaginal fl clock by keeping the pH of the vagina in a low range (between 3.8 and 4.5), thus providing effective protection against
against pathogenic bacteria and fungi.
An imbalance in the natural balance of bacteria in the vagina can lead to infection, which can be dangerous for your health and pregnancy. A lack of microbial balance in the vagina can cause the pH to rise above 4.5, which not only affects the quality of life
but can also pose serious health risks and increase the risk of premature birth.

Ingredients

The device consists of a plastic applicator and a pH test strip.

Contents of the box

2, 3, 5 or 10 individually packed applicators
and absorbent, instructions for use

Did you know that…
… 20-30% of patients undergoing gynaecological treatment for a vaginal infection? The most common complaints are increased secretion, fishy smell, burning, itching and vaginal dryness.
… 15-20% of women are diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis during pregnancy, which puts them at increased risk of preterm delivery and premature rupture of the amniotic sac.

The viola health pH test allows early detection of vaginal microbial imbalances. The test can be used to quickly detect pH increases and prevent vaginal microbial imbalances by testing regularly.

Test objective

Semi-quantitative determination of vaginal pH.

The importance of the test

The upset of the natural pH of the vagina can be caused by a number of factors, at any age

may be affected. The most common of these are:

1. Various vaginal infections, which may include signs of: changed vaginal discharge consistency or odour, itching, urination problems, pain, swelling, redness
2. Antibiotic treatment
3. Excessive intimate hygiene
4. Hormonal problems.

Biological background

An adequate natural (acidic) pH of the vagina is one of the characteristics of a healthy vaginal flora and also provides protection against pathogens, as the desired pH (3.8-4.4) is not optimal for pathogens. The main species responsible for this range are lactobacillus bacteria, which produce lactic acid.

How the test works

Chemical colour reaction (pH dependent). Accuracy 99%

When should you perform a viola pH test?

A viola pH test is recommended twice a week during pregnancy to check that the vaginal pH remains within the normal range and between antenatal tests. However, frequent testing is particularly recommended if your previous pregnancies
you have had a vaginal infection or a pregnancy that ended in preterm birth.

For non-pregnant women, the most effective time to have tests is when bacterial vaginosis or fungal infection (dysbiosis) is suspected. These symptoms include a burning, itching sensation, a fishy, strong discharge. May develop with a new partner
sexual intercourse, treatment of vaginal infections or after vaginal surgery.

Before taking the test

Please note that the test may give a false result if performed within 12 hours of sexual intercourse or use of vaginal medicinal products (vaginal suppositories, creams, etc.) or within 3-4 days after the end of menstrual bleeding. Do not wash or shower the area immediately before testing and note that urine may also affect the result.

Inappropriate use of the applicator can lead to a tear of the hymen in women who are not yet sexually active.
Determining the pH level of the vagina is simple, hygienic and completely painless. Relax and follow the steps on the next page exactly.

THINGS TO DO BEFORE TESTING

1. Wash your hands thoroughly, then open the inner packaging and remove the applicator.
2. Hold the applicator, just in the round area between your thumb and forefinger. Always keep your thumb on the back of the applicator where there is no pH measurement zone. Avoid contact of the pH measurement zone with other liquids.
3. Sit with knees apart or one leg on the toilet seat or other solid surface.
4. With your free hand, gently open the vaginal opening, carefully separating the outer labia.
5. Carefully insert the vaginal applicator into the vagina in the same way as you would insert a tampon (approx. 1-3 cm deep, but not more than
to the beginning of the round part of the applicator).
6. Press the inserted vaginal applicator against the back wall of the vagina approx. for 10 seconds (press towards the rectum), so that the pH measurement zone absorbs sufficient moisture. The right amount of moisture is essential for the test to be successful.
7. Carefully remove the applicator from the sheath and immediately read the result while the measurement zone is wet.

APPRECIATION

Compare the colour of the pH measurement zone with the colour scale below and read off the value of the colour field that most closely resembles it.

Please note that only the following scale should be used for the assessment:

The pH value of the sheath is within the normal range if the colour of the measurement zone is the same as the colour of the fields marked 4.0 or 4.4 on the pH scale.
The indicator changes colour to brown-green-blue when it measures a value above 4.4. Vaginal pH values above 4.4 are outside the normal/healthy range.

An unevenly coloured measurement zone indicates that the test was not performed or that the moisture in the pH measurement zone was not correct. In this case, you can repeat the test with the same vaginal applicator. Dispose of the test accessories with your household waste,
after reading the result.

If your pH level is not within the normal range on one occasion, this is not always a problem. Repeat the test a few hours later or the next day. If your pH continues to fall outside the normal range, you should contact your doctor.

MEGJEGYZÉSEK

The following factors can affect your vaginal pH:
– bacterial vaginosis or various bacterial infections (usually sexually transmitted diseases)
– premature rupture of the amniotic sac – inadequate and/or excessive intimate hygiene (frequent vaginal washing, inadequate
products)
– estrogen deficiency (estrogen promotes the breakdown of glycogen into lactic acid)
– post-operative infections

Many factors can temporarily change the pH of the vagina without causing symptoms.

Always seek medical advice if you experience any of the following symptoms:
bleeding (including spotting), itching or burning sensation in the vagina, unpleasant smell, burning sensation during urination, menstrual-like symptoms or suspected leakage of amniotic fluid.
