A radical turnaround <\/strong>in the recommendation of the US Centers for Disease Control!<\/strong><\/p>\n

To combat the coronavirus epidemic more effectively, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has announced a new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) plan for 2022. has partially revised its previous recommendations in its<\/strong> August guidance<\/strong> https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/media\/releases\/2022\/p0811-covid-guidance.html<\/a>. According to the updated guidelines, if a person comes into contact with a person infected with COVID-19, whether vaccinated or not, they no longer need to be quarantined. Instead, wear a high quality mask for 10 days, and 5. test yourself on the following days. However, the guideline that in case of COVID-19 infection, the person should be isolated from others, regardless of vaccination status, has not changed. Even if you don’t have test results yet, but you are sick or suspect you are infected with COVID-19. If you test positive, it is recommended that you stay at home for at least 5 days and isolate yourself from others, as you are most likely to be infectious during the first 5 days. Always wear a good quality mask when you need to be around others at home and in public. If after 5 days, you are free of fever for 24 hours without medication and your symptoms are improving (or were absent), then – after a negative test – you can be given the 5th test. you can end your isolation after day 3. When assessing the need to maintain physical distance, we must also consider the important role of ventilation. Risk factors in the environment must also be assessed, so the US Centers for Disease Control now recommends investigating cases and tracking contacts only in health care facilities and high-risk places of assembly.<\/p>\n

The CDC’s guidance, moreover, comes just over a week after a study published in JAMA Network Open found that a significant proportion of patients with coronavirus who test positive for the rapid antigen test after 5 days may still be infectious.<\/p>\n

Recently, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) also published its recommendation to continue to require repeated or repeated testing over a longer period of time.
