Infection only develops in 1-2% of cases, but if the test is positive (i.e. shows IgM antibodies) it indicates an existing infection and requires immediate treatment!<\/p>\n<p><strong>How does the Lyme disease test work?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the case of tick-borne Lyme disease, the immune system defends itself by producing antibodies. The antibodies circulate in the blood and bind the bacteria. The Lyme disease rapid test detects a certain group of antibodies (IgM: immunoglobulin M) as early as the first 2-4 weeks of infection, and can therefore detect the presence of the bacteria. In case of infection, antibiotic treatment is necessary and the diagnosis should always be confirmed by a doctor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How is this Lyme disease test different from others on the market?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a home Lyme disease test to test yourself and NOT the tick you picked up!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who should get a Lyme disease test?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>for people who have been found to have a tick inside them,<\/li>\n<li>for people who have developed a reddening of the skin at the site of the tick bite following a tick bite,<\/li>\n<li>for people with symptoms suggestive of Lyme disease<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>One of the big dangers of Lyme disease is that its symptoms can often be linked to other diseases. The disappearance of a Lyme spot does not necessarily mean that the body is cured.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>If the patient is not treated (even for years), more serious complaints can occur, such as:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>nerve paralysis problems<\/li>\n<li>neuropathies<\/li>\n<li>severe muscle weakness<\/li>\n<li>memory decay<\/li>\n<li>heart rhythm disturbance<\/li>\n<li>sleepiness<\/li>\n<li>vision, hearing, balance problems<\/li>\n<li>depression<\/li>\n<li>weight loss<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>About ticks:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The tick lives in temperate climate zones, undergrowth and forested areas. A spider-like, blood-sucking parasite that can be dangerous to humans and animals alike. Several species are known. Some ticks jump on the target from above, from trees or bushes, while others climb up from below, from undergrowth. Not all tick bites cause infection.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What diseases can ticks cause?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lyme borreliosis (Lyme disease, there is no vaccine to prevent it)<\/li>\n<li>Tular encephalitis (viral encephalitis and meningitis, preventable by vaccination)<\/li>\n<li>Babesiosis (dog malaria)<\/li>\n<li>TIBOLA<\/li>\n<li>And also about. 50 other diseases they can cause<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ticks can be infected with the Lyme disease-causing bacterium Borrelia, which is transmitted from animals to humans through bites. Borrelia bacteria attacks the nervous system and can lead to a variety of serious neurological disorders. The infection can also cause skin lesions and joint inflammation. After 3-10 days, or in some cases several weeks, from the tick bite, inflammation and redness around the bite may occur, possibly accompanied by fever.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Lyme disease test allows the detection of specific antibodies 2-4 weeks after the suspected tick bite, and is therefore suitable for detecting possible Borrelia infection. Remove the orange safety tab with a twisting motion<br \/>\n5. Clean one of your fingertips with an alcohol swab.
