What is a PSA?

Prostate-specific antigen or PSA is a protein produced in the prostate. Its job is to keep the semen liquid. This protein is also found in the blood. Changes in prostate antigen levels provide important information about the state of the prostate.

Why is it important to check your PSA level regularly?

A higher than normal PSA level indicates an enlarged prostate (hypertrophy). The enlargement may be caused by a benign lesion, such as prostatitis, or even prostate cancer. PSA testing should be carried out at least once a year in all men over 50. Early detection of a problem greatly improves the chances of recovery.

In which cases do we recommend a Prostate Rapid Test?

• urinary problems
• painful urination
• the urine passes slowly, with some hesitation
• urine comes in thin streams
• you have to strain to pass urine
• frequent urge to urinate (you may have to get up several times a night)
• Over 50 years (worth doing once a year)
• for people with a family history of prostate cancer.

A prostate test can diagnose a PSA blood level higher than 4 ng/ml, indicating benign or malignant prostate enlargement.

You should test your health regularly to reassure yourself if you have a negative result, or a positive result can shed light on a possible disorder or disease as soon as possible. The sooner you treat the problem, the sooner the symptoms will be relieved. Remember, early detection can lead to an early cure!

About the prostate

Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) is produced by the prostate (gland). The prostate gland is located in the abdominal cavity below the bladder, surrounds the urethral opening and plays a major role in the production of semen. Changes in prostate antigen levels provide important information about the state of the prostate. Thus, a level above normal may indicate pathological changes (benign enlargement, prostatitis, cancer, etc.). PSA testing should be carried out at least once a year for all men over 50. If there is a problem, early detection can greatly improve the chances of recovery. A single drop of blood taken from a fingertip is sufficient for use.

Warnings

1. This test is considered an in vitro diagnostic tool for external use. Do not swallow any of its components!
2. Read the instructions carefully before using the test! The test will only give reliable results if all the instructions for use have been followed. Strictly follow the specified blood and buffer solution volumes, as well as the reading times.
3. The test should be stored between +4 C° and +30 C°. Under no circumstances should you freeze it!
4. Do not use the product if the expiry date indicated on the packaging has expired or if the inner protective packaging has been damaged. 5. The test is a single determination, do not use it more than once!
5. Keep out of reach of children!
6. After use, all test accessories can be disposed of with household waste!

Instructions for use

1. Mosson kezet szappannal, és öblítse le tiszta vízzel!
2. Tépje fel a védőcsomagolást (a bemetszésnél) és vegye ki belőle a tesztet és a pipettát, majd dobja ki mind az alumínium-, mind a páraelszívó tasakokat!
3. Push the small orange safety tab towards the inside of the spear until you hear a click, indicating that the device is activated.
4. Távolítsa el a narancssárga biztonsági fülecskét egy csavaró mozdulattal.
5. Tisztítsa le valamelyik ujjhegyét egy alkoholos vattával. Masszírozza az ujjbegyét lefelé, hogy megteljen vérrel.
6. Press the spear firmly against the cleaned fingertip. Nyomja meg a kioldó gombot.
7. A lándzsa hegye a szúrást követően automatikusan és biztonságosan visszaugrik a helyére. Ne használja fel többször a lándzsát!
8. Masszírozza a megszúrt ujjbegyét a vér kibuggyanásáig.
9. Tartsa a pipettát a vércsepphez, nyomja össze a végét, majd lassan felengedve szívja fel a vért a pipetta belsejében jelzett vonalig. Ne nyomja közben újra össze a pipetta végét! Ha nem éri el a vér a jelzést, masszírozza újra az ujjbegyét, hogy még egy kis mintát nyerjen. Amennyire lehetséges, törekedjen a légbuborék elkerüléséhez.
10. Cseppentse a vérmintát a pipetta összenyomásával a tesztkazetta kerek mintagyűjtő ablakába az ábra szerint.
11. Várjon, amíg a vér felszívódik a mintaablakból, majd cseppentsen 4-5 cseppet a pufferoldatot tartalmazó fiolából ugyanoda. Leave the test cassette horizontal and do not move it.
12. Read the result in between 10 and 15 minutes. Ne értékelje a tesztet 10 percen belül és 15 perc eltelte után!

Evaluation of the result

A megjelenő csíkok színintenzitása nem befolyásolja az eredményt!

1. Negatív eredmény

Csak egy csík jelenik meg a kontrollfelületen, a C jelzés alatt. This result means that the PSA level is within normal limits.

2. Pozitív eredmény

Két csík jelenik meg a kontrollfelületen: a T és a C jelzések alatt (nem számít, ha az egyik halványabb, mint a másik). This result means that the blood PSA level is higher than normal. If the result is positive, see your doctor!

3. Érvénytelen eredmény

Érvénytelen eredménynek számít, ha egyetlen csík sem jelenik meg a kontrollfelületen, illetve, ha csak a T jelzés alatt látható elszíneződött csík. Mindkét esetben értékelhetetlen a teszt, javasolt egy új gyorsteszttel megismételni a vizsgálatot.
