I and III. type – The most abundant collagen in the human body. Mostly found in the skin, bones, tendons and ligaments, but also important for building hair, nails and muscles.
There are 18 amino acids in collagen, of which 4 are present in higher amounts in type I and type III collagen: glycine, proline, glutamine and arginine.
